"David Farwig, the baritone who has the lion's share of the cantata's solo work, negotiates Neruda's verse with real intelligence, with a vocal quality that reminds me of Barber's recording of his own Dover Beach, although with a thoroughly modern dramatic style." Classicalnet.net
"Baritone David Farwig has an intimate yet mature sound and his delivery in “Tonight I can write” is devastating in its unrequited longing." Concerto.net
UPCOMING E V E N T S
Sadly, most performances of live music throughout the entire world are on hold, save for those "virtual" performances on line. Thankfully there are those musicians who are generously offering their time and talents and continuing to perform via recordings and videos. I am currently recovering from the COVID-19 virus, which I contracted in mid- March, so I have not been able to do much at all. I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones who survived a very nasty illness. I realize there are many levels of severity, but it's astounding and heartbreaking to hear of hundreds and even THOUSANDS who continue to die every day.
As you might imagine, all my upcoming professional music engagements have been canceled through the summer. That's seven for me. I have hope live music for in-person audiences will, in some manner, return, but it's difficult to know when that will be. In the meantime, please continue to stay safe and healthy as we journey through this very uncertain and unprecedented (at least in our lifetimes) time.

I'm lucky to work at a place that values love and openness to all. Calvary Baptist Church Denver's logo says it all: OPEN TO ALL, CLOSED TO NONE. We have suspended all in-person services, however we continue to offer worship on line at www.calvarydenver.org
